Patient Story – Simba

Simba

Simba belongs to our Kennel Assistant Fiona. One evening she noticed that he was constantly wretching and seemed distressed. She managed to have a look in his mouth and thought she could see something stuck abnormal there.

Fiona brought Simba straight into the practice and he was immediately given an injection of sedation and pain relief. This allowed us to closely examine him and we found a large piece of chicken bone was lodged at the back of his throat. We were able to remove the bone carefully and thankfully it hadn’t caused any lasting damage.

Simba made a very swift recovery and enjoyed a soft food diet for a number of days to ensure that he wasn’t painful when eating.
