A Closer Look at CT Scanning – What It Means for Your Pet’s Health
At Mulberry House Vets, we’re always looking for ways to offer the very best care for your pets – whether it’s a routine check-up or something more complex. One of the ways we’re able to do that is with our on-site CT scanner, which allows us to see what’s going on inside your pet’s body in amazing detail.
What is a CT scan?
-
Ongoing lameness or joint problems
-
Suspected tumours or internal masses
-
Dental or jaw issues
-
Breathing difficulties
-
Injuries following trauma (such as road traffic accidents)
Why it matters that our CT scanner is on site
Having a permanent CT scanner here at the practice means we don’t need to rely on mobile units or send your pet elsewhere. That means:
- No unnecessary delays – we can scan when it’s needed, not just when a scanner is available.
- Less travel for you and your pet, which helps reduce stress.
- Faster diagnoses, so we can start treatment as soon as possible.
Emergency referrals and outpatient scans
We know that in emergencies, time is critical. That’s why we can accept emergency referrals for urgent CT scans, giving us the best chance to act quickly and provide effective care.
We also offer outpatient CT scans – so if your own vet has recommended advanced imaging, they can refer your pet to us just for the scan. Once it’s done, we’ll send all the images and reports straight back to them. Click here to refer
Always in safe hands
Every scan is overseen by our experienced veterinary team, and your pet’s comfort and safety are always our top priority. Whether it’s part of a bigger treatment plan or simply an investigative step, you can be assured they’ll be well looked after throughout.
If you’d like to know more about CT scanning, how it works, or whether it might be helpful for your pet, feel free to give us a call. We’re always happy to answer questions and talk through your options.
💜 From all of us here at Mulberry House, thank you for trusting us with your pets.
